Dr. Christensen is pleased to offer crowns made with CEREC, a highly precise computer milling machine that makes crowns right in the office, in about an hour. No more temporaries, additional visits, or crowns that don’t seem to fit right. Just because CEREC crowns are convenient and aesthetically desirable doesn’t mean you have to give up function. These modern restorations dramatically reduce cracking, lowering the likelihood of needing future root canal treatment. Due to the custom design and precise fit, CEREC restorations are bonded to the tooth with the optimum strength available.

Our team can reduce that waiting period and multiple office visits to just a single visit with CEREC. This computer-aided design and milling device allows us to create a permanent crown in just a single visit.

To make the restoration, we use a reflective powder or digital scanner on the prepared tooth to obtain an accurate picture of the tooth that is displayed on a computer screen, enabling us to design the restoration. Then the machine takes over and automatically creates the restoration. Finally, we bond the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. All in one visit!
